When using small-diameter diamond saw blades for cutting materials such as marble, granite, concrete, refractory materials, ceramics, etc., the following points should be noted:
.Operators should wear relevant protective equipment before operation, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, and ear protection.
.The cutting machine should have a protective cover or other safety devices.
.Before use, check whether the saw blade is damaged or severely deformed. If any damage is found, it should not be used.
.Check whether there is dirt on the chuck of the cutting machine. If there is any dirt, clean it before installation. Check whether the spindle bearings, spindle, or sleeve are severely worn. If severe wear is found, replace the new sleeve or equipment.
.When installing the saw blade, the direction marked on the blade must be consistent with the rotation direction of the cutting machine. Inconsistent direction may cause cutting difficulties.
.If a wet cutting saw blade is used, sufficient cooling water should be added during operation.
.For dry cutting saw blades, every 10 to 15 seconds of cutting, it must be idled for a few seconds to cool the blade. For larger cutting depths, cutting should be done step by step. When using dry cutting saw blades with water cooling, the effect will be better.
.Curved cutting and side grinding are not allowed during the cutting process, as they may cause saw blade cracking, chipping, or base fracture.
.If the cutting is inclined, the cutting depth should not be too large. During the cutting process, safety should be ensured. Try not to let your body and the saw blade be on the same plane. If there is any abnormal noise, stop cutting immediately and check whether the saw blade is damaged or whether the fixing screws of the saw blade are loose.
.If the diamond saw blade becomes dull due to blockage during use, please use a ceramic grinding wheel or refractory brick to re-sharpen (resharpening means cutting about ten times on the ceramic grinding wheel or refractory brick). After re-sharpening, the sharpness can be restored.
.If noise and severe vibration occur during cutting, stop immediately and check whether the saw blade has cracks or chipping. If cracks or chipping are found, replace with a new blade.
.If the cutting material exceeds 2mm beyond the cutting edge of the saw blade during cutting, it can reduce the degree of burrs on the cut material.
.If the aperture of the saw blade does not match the spindle of the cutting machine, suitable-sized washers can be used. However, during the cutting process, attention should be paid to whether the saw blade is shaking. If shaking occurs, check whether the washer is loose. If the washer falls off and continues to be used, it may cause the saw blade to vibrate during cutting, ultimately leading to the blade becoming non-circular and unable to continue cutting.
Indeed, paying attention to these issues during use is essential. Proper and correct usage of diamond saw blades will not only prolong their lifespan but also enhance cutting effectiveness.
